Edge Cafe

The Edge Café is a Christian initiative run by volunteers from Carterknowle Methodist Church, members of the local community and youth workers from Inspyre, (the youth work project of the Ecclesall Methodist Circuit). The Edge also enjoys the support of Sheffield Futures.

The aim of the Edge Café is to provide the opportunity for the young people of our community in Carterknowle to, have a safe place to meet, make new friends, learn new skills and to understand each other better.

The Edge Café meets in term time at the Oasis cafe and church hall on a Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It has evolved, to date, into a Youth Club for young people from Year 6 to Year 10 where all are welcome and respected.

The Edge offers a range of activities including:

  • Arts and crafts evenings
  • Cooking
  • Snooker and pool
  • Table football
  • Playstation
  • Table tennis

Soft drinks and sweets can be purchased from the café.

There is a small entrance charge and the young people attending are required to complete a consent form which must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Parents are welcome to contact the leaders on Mondays between 7:00 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the café, in person or by telephone (0114-249-2282)
